June 22, 1587
We just landed on the coast of Santa Cruz and the water seems to be evil. People are becoming very sick and some green fruit is causing peoples tongues to swell. So we need some food and some people found giant tortoises!! I took 16 men to carry them back and we are exhausted, but at least we have food finally.
